     Why are heavy-duty racks called beam racks? The most intuitive can be seen from their structure. A heavy-duty rack is generally composed of two parts: a column piece and a beam. The beam is connected in the hole on the column according to the actual height. The forklift inserts the goods on the beam and plays the role of the entire shelf under the support of the load-bearing column. The beams of heavy-duty racks are generally welded by two special welding beams, which doubles the thickness of the upper and lower beams. This design makes the beam have the characteristics of relatively light weight, strong bearing capacity, and low cost. This is one of the most popular types of heavy-duty shelves.

    The heavy-duty rack is also called a pallet rack perhaps because this rack is the first rack to store goods in large quantities with various pallets. On heavy-duty shelves, each layer must be equipped with a pallet as an auxiliary tool to store goods. First, put the goods on the pallet and pack, and place as many goods as possible. The bulky products can be placed directly on the pallet, and then transported to the designated shelf location with a forklift. The span of the pallet rack is usually determined by the size of the pallet. Generally speaking, each group of heavy-duty racks can have 2-3 pallets. According to the actual needs of the warehouse, I design and consider the choice of materials.

    Slotted racks are another name for heavy-duty racks. In fact, any shelf that uses pallets can be called a shelf type. Because the pallet is used, many storage locations will be formed, and the cargo location is also a very important reference factor for the early design of the shelf. Perhaps it is because heavy-duty racks are the first formal, bulk-storage racks that use pallets, so we naturally call heavy-duty racks as position-type racks. Reasonable design and arrangement of the cargo space is one of the factors that ensure the reasonable use of the shelf. Special care should be taken in the shelf engineering design and planning.

   In general, the main characteristics of heavy-duty racks are simple structure, can be used in combination, more convenient, strong load-bearing capacity, easy to design and install, etc., is one of the basic types of storage racks used in warehouse production and warehousing logistics.
